Where do your dogs live?
Parent dogs that live in kennels aren't necessarily a deal-breaker but the answer should include that the dogs rotate time indoors and spend regular one-on-one time with the owner (as in daily time).
If the answer is that the majority of dogs are in “guardian homes” you need to take that into consideration as well. It is very difficult for a breeder to keep an eye on her breeding stock and their temperament and training when the dogs do not live with them.
A couple of dogs in guardian homes are acceptable because the breeder can make visits to these dogs and keep in close contact with their families. A large amount of dogs (more than 5) in guardian homes means this breeder only cares about profit and you should give this breeder a negative mark here as well. Guardian homes can be nice, but they shouldn’t be where the majority of a breeder’s stock resides.
If a breeder says all the dogs live inside the home full time and there are more than 6 dogs in total the breeder is very likely a liar. Look carefully at the breeder’s other answers to look for signs of dishonesty. Steer clear of a breeder that is even a tiny bit dishonest. This is the breeder that will sell you a sick puppy with a smile on her face.
